Australian Health Research Alliance

CA AHSN is a member of the Australian Health Research Alliance [AHRA]. https://ahra.org.au

It is made up of nine health research translation centres accredited by the National Health & Medical Research Council [NHMRC]. Along with NSW Regional Partners, CA AHSN has accreditation as a Centre for Innovation in Rural Health [CIRH]. The other seven centres are known as Advanced Health Research and Translation Centres [AHRTCs].

AHRA facilitates the integration of healthcare, health and medical research, and health professional education to deliver better health outcomes for all Australians. Collectively, AHRA covers:

  • 95% of Australia’s academic and research teams, and;
  • 78% of its acute health services.

AHRA is committed to ensuring Australia’s health system is fully informed by quality health and medical research. In partnership with our community we are researching and working with partners to develop ways to improve access, services, systems and health outcomes.

We are striving for equity in healthcare provision and delivery while translating research into practice.

Working through AHRA, the nine National Health and Medical Research Council accredited translation centres across Australia are in a unique position to transcend State and Territory boundaries and improve systems of care and treatment in order to benefit all Australians.
